Easter '05
Firstly, sorry it has been such an enormously long time since my last post! Easter is at the same time in the UK in case you're wondering but its taken me a few weeks to find a few minutes to write about it.
Chris and I headed down to Mum's place in Exmouth again. Anika was home for school holidays and we had pretty good weather for March. The best of the sunshine was on Saturday when Mum, Chris and I went to Budleigh Salterton beach for a walk and an icecream. Mum is looking great and surprisingly refreshed after having done a considerable amount of DIY and cleaning up from the handyman and electrician.

On Sunday Chris and I headed up to Woolacombe on the north Devon coast (out from the town of Barnstaple in case you are trying to find it on a map). Apparently its one of the country's busiest surf beaches and was absolutely heaving with wetsuit clad lads and lasses. The water was absolutely freezing Chris reported and he'll be sure to wear the balaclava and gloves he has for surfing next time! Although I didn't get a picture of it, the beach is very long and flat and icecream vans and chip trailers drive along to strategic spots to sell their goodies. Never far from a snack here I promise you!

On Easter Monday Mum, Chris and I went to a National Trust property in Exmouth called A La Ronde. Its a sixteen sided house with spectacular views of the estuary built by two spinster cousins who went on a ten year trip around Europe. Hence, it had a really decorative interior and somewhat oddly, loads of shells that you can't find in Europe.

We're heading down to Mum's again in May for the two long holiday weekends.
